As empresas de cosméticos a cada dia estão mais conscientes do impacto que seus produtos e suas práticas têm no meio ambiente e na sociedade. Neste artigo são abordados os objetivos que as empresas devem mirar para garantir a fabricação de produtos funcionais com ingredientes de origem sustentável, processos e embalagens ecológicas e comunicando as práticas de uso e de descarte corretas aos consumidores.
Cosmetic companies are increasingly aware of the impact their products and practives have on the environment and society. This article addresses the objectives that companies should aim to ensure the manufacture of functional products with ingredients of sustainble origin, ecological processes and packaging, and communicating to consumers the corrects use and disposal practices.
Las empresas de cosméticos son cada vez más conscientes del impacto que tienen sus productos y prácticas en el medio ambiente y la sociedad. Este artículo aborda los objectivos que deben perseguir las empresas para asegurar la fabricación de productos funcionales con ingredientes de origen sostenible, processos y envases ecológicos, y comunicar a los consumidores las prácticas correctas de uso y descarte.

Conclusões
Os cosméticos, como todos os pro[1]dutos que estão no mercado, têm impacto na sustentabilidade ao longo do seu ciclo de vida (Figura 1). Toda a cadeia de valor, desde o fornecimento de matérias-primas, passando pela produção do cosmético, acondicionamento e distribuição, até o uso e o pós-consumo, tem consequências em nível ambiental, social e econômico, dado que a sustentabilidade é um conceito multidimensional.
