In this article the authors look for to find the way that correlates the ethnic variations of the physiological characteristics of the skin with dermatological disorders. The transepidermical water loss (TEWL), the water content (WC), the blood vessel reactivity (BVR), pH gradient, microtopography, sebaceous function, vellus hair follicle distribution, morphology and distribution of melanossomas, and resistance to photodamage had been evaluated. To conclude, the authors suggest that the procedures of skin treatments would have to be developed taking in account the different ethnics groups.
