Sabe-se que a radiação UV é responsável pelo aparecimento de queimaduras e danos na pele, desencadeando o envelhecimento precoce e o câncer. Este artigo descreve os efeitos fotoprotetores da quercetina sobre os danos na pele causados pela UV.
It is knowed that the UV radiation is responsible for sunburn and skin damage leading to premature aging and skin cancer. This paper describes the photoprotective effects of quercetin on the skin damage induced by UV
Como es de conocimiento general, la radiación UV es responsable por la aparición de quemaduras y daños a la piel, causando el envejecimiento precoz y el cáncer de piel. Este artículo describe los efectos fotoprotectores de la quercitina sobre los daños en la piel provocados por la UV.

A pele é o revestimento protetor do corpo humano, sendo composta por três camadas tissulares distintas, a epiderme, a derme e a hipoderme. A epiderme é a responsável pela formação da camada mais externa, o estrato córneo. O estrato córneo é a principal barreira à penetração de substâncias por essa via.1,2,3
Por constituir uma interface com o meio ambiente e devido à sua função barreira, a pele é considerada um órgão alvo de fatores externos como a radiação ultravioleta (UV), ozônio, radiação ionizante e vários compostos químicos tóxicos. A ação destes fatores sobre a superfície cutânea pode levar a geração de radicais livres, que estão relacionados a diversas patologias da pele e ao próprio processo natural do envelhecimento cutâneo.4,5
